The 8-page short in question is a full-format comic story featuring some of the friends of the podcast as spoof characters of a certain mainstream superhero team. It is comical in nature, but all styles will be considered.

I sadly can not pay for your services, and believe me I wish I could. However, I am willing to trade services if that’s something that would appeal to you. I letter (Image, Arcana, etc.), design logos and of course write.

I can also offer some sort of exposure for your talents on http://www.comicrelated.com, a popular comic news site I co-own. Be it a spotlight, interview, whatever.

All-in-one and individual disciplined artists will be considered.

There’s no tight deadline on this. We are hoping to get the book published this Fall, but beyond that it can be worked on around your other work.

Here you go, the second Zone 4 strip this week as we learn more about our real villain’s true motives!

RINGTAILS IN THE HIZ-OUSE

Yep, our good friends of Ringtail Cafe – Darren, Krista, Jackie and Alecia – make their Zone 4 debut! A big thanks to Andrew for adding them in as they weren’t originally going to fit. He kindly added them at a request from me, and it’s really cool to see them here.

FIRE IS HOT!

Seriously, that’s two strips on Comic Related today involving fire of some sort as a plot point. Pretty cool actually. I’m not sure who I’d be more afraid of, though, the Spell-Demon here, or Faux-Phoenix Force Chad (who’s actually just on fire) over in New Comic Day. Chad already wants to hurt me over a little short I wrote, so I don’t know…

And speaking of fire, I sure hope none of my fellow Kentuckians lit any couches on fire this week. I’m glad the Wildcats won the NCAA championship too, but come on, people!

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, REMEMBER…

Well, here we are, folks! We may have missed last week, but we came back with a bang this week I think. And there’s still another strip yet to come this week too!

And after this week, we’ll just have to see how much story we have left. It is winding down, but may be just a tad longer than we originally thought!

SET THE WORLD ON FIRE

Andrew and Lisa once again knocked it out of the park with this gorgeous strip. Andrew’s drawing of the fiery head was great enough, but Lisa really did a number on it here. We had been fading into the grays for so long now I had forgotten just how good this strip looks in full color, and this strip in particular illustrates that more than ever!

COLLECTING IT ALL

As we’ve talked about on the show, we do plan on collecting this beast when all is said and done, with a LOT of extras added in for good measure! I’m talking brand new stories and other content, so stay tuned in the weeks and months to come for announcements on that!

Basically, our brilliant colorist (see what I did there?), Lisa Moore is inundated with work and has a tight deadline currently. See, she is very much in demand, and we couldn’t be more proud or more supportive of her. So, as sometimes happens, there just aren’t enough hours in the day.

We toyed very briefly with running the strip in black & white this week, then taking the color version live next week. But for one, we don’t want to deprive you of seeing Lisa’s skills on the strip as it debuts. And secondly, given that last strip Queen Lisa was adding color back into the world, that certainly wouldn’t bode well to post it in even less color than the semi-grays we had throughout!

So next week, perhaps on Monday and Wednesday, we’ll have TWO brand new, fully colored strips for you to enjoy!

THE “COLOR” IN “THE COLOR GAMBIT”

Lisa really was the star of the past few strips with the subtle colors on top of the dominating grays, and then here again as the grays fade into full, vibrant colors. It amazes me both how good and how fast she is. She had just finished coloring this week’s strip when Ron’s email came in with a little additional instruction, to have the colors fade in. Well, Lisa being the pro she is didn’t bat an eye at this and turned it around in literally minutes or less! And she still got to do her fantastic highlights on hair that, if you’ve followed Spy6teen at all, she has really improved upon in recent months. As if her skills weren’t strong enough already. Always learning, always improving, and always nailing it!

THE LINES BY WHICH WE COLOR

I can’t leave out Andrew’s fabulous pencils and inks here either, though. He actually finished this strip a while back so he and Lisa could work out some stuff with it conceptually from inks to colors. We got to see it last week along with last week’s strip and I was blown away by the simple, yet elegant and powerful piece he did. It looks very light (no pun intended), but at the same time contains so much detail and grace.

WRAPPING THINGS UP

I know I keep saying that, but we are VERY close to wrapping this first story up. We may do more in the future, but once this one’s done, we’ll be taking a break for a while. We couldn’t be more thankful and happy with the reception we’ve gotten from this strip, and we’re very glad everyone has enjoyed it.
